Uniquely situated on the border of New York and Massachusetts, Catamount is a small yet powerful resort. Over the past few years, it has undergone significant upgrades. There's a new lift, a new lodge, hundreds of new snowmaking machines, four snow ponds, and additional trails. Snow covers over 90% of the resort's 13 trails, with elevation changes of up to 300 meters. Recent updates include the addition of two new chairlifts. A new snow tubing park is also set to open earlier this year. This season, five new restaurants are planned to open, including Campfire, a bar, and a barbecue area at the recently opened Catamount Cottage.

Belleayre Ski Center

Belleayre made its debut in the Catskills in 1949 with five trails and New York's first chairlift. Today, it boasts 50 trails, parks, and glades, along with eight lifts on 70 acres, including cross-country ski trails. A ride on the Catskill Thunder gondola offers visitors breathtaking views of the Catskill Forest Preserve and the opportunity to capture photos of the local wildlife and landscape. Belleayre recently expanded its Discovery Lodge and introduced an open heated patio with fire pits and outdoor seating. Celebrating its 75th season this year, Mohawk Mountain offers skiers the opportunity to explore a wide range of wooded and open slopes, boasting the highest number of trails in the state – 26 (including 16 night trails), the greatest vertical drop (198 meters), and eight lifts. Located on 141 acres in northwest Connecticut, the resort recently added cross-country trails for snowshoeing and snow tubing. Connecticut Magazine has recognized it as the best ski resort for several years running. Mohawk Mountain recently expanded its lodge to accommodate enhanced physical distancing measures. Fully lit night skiing trails are now available, complete with LED lights and additional snowmaking. This season, the resort nearly doubled the number of lanes in its snow tubing park. These are the longest and fastest lanes in Pennsylvania, all 46 of which are serviced by three carpet lifts. Ski and snowboard lessons for beginners are available at the resort's learning center.
